Darrell Haight and Rhonda Smith founded Trace with the vision of including the firm’s senior partners in the leadership team. The partners in Trace are included in the strategic planning of the company and are all responsible for providing outstanding staff leadership and client service.
Darrell J.I. Haight, B.Sc., P.Ag. - President and CEO
Mr. Haight is a professional agrologist and completed his Bachelor of Science in Environmental and Conservation Sciences from the University of Alberta. Mr. Haight is a Co-founder, President, and CEO of Trace. At Trace, Darrell is responsible for the overall leadership of the company, including development and implementation of the companies' vision, mission, strategy, sales, marketing, corporate social responsibility, and health and safety management system. Darrell's goal with Trace is to build a great company that clients want to work with and people want to work for. We want our staff to become shareholders and partners in the firm.
Rhonda L. Smith (nee Kish), B.Sc., P.Ag. - Chief Operating Officer
Ms. Smith is a professional agrologist and completed her Bachelor of Science in Geography and Environmental Studies from the University of Victoria. Ms. Smith's areas of expertise lie in both the public and private sectors, primarily focusing on business management, and project management and coordination of large multi-site assessment and remediation programs for large upstream oil and gas clients. Ms. Smith has extensive experience in managing project teams as well as employees from a business operations perspective. Ms. Smith has broad field experience in contaminated assessment, groundwater and soil monitoring, and remediation work throughout western Canada and has also provided in-house remediation and reclamation program management for two major energy companies.
Rob W. Anderson, B.Sc., P.Ag. - Director, Operations
Mr. Anderson is a professional agrologist and completed his Bachelor of Science in Environmental and Conservation Sciences from the University of Alberta. Mr. Anderson is the Director of Operations at Trace, and directs, administers, and coordinates the operational divisions across the company. Prior to joining Trace, Mr. Anderson spent five years as an Environmental Coordinator and Environmental Supervisor at a large Western Canadian exploration company, and five years as an Environmental Consultant at a large engineering firm. His expertise is in project management, program development, environmental liability assessments, environmental site assessments (ESAs), site remediation, reclamation, and decommissioning in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia.
