Municipality Drought and Climate Change

August 8, 2024 /in /by Trace Associates

Severe drought conditions were predicted in Western Canada for spring and summer 2024. When drought advisories to water licence holders were released in early spring, Trace’s hydrogeology team quickly realized our expertise in drought preparedness and climate change resiliency could be an immediate benefit to our clients. Our clients were facing potential water shortages and licence allocation claw backs, which could greatly impact their businesses.

Our goal was to strengthen operational resilience, protect water resources, and encourage sustainable water management practices. The attached publication was written by Sheila Duchek, Trace’s Practice Area Lead for Hydrogeology and Water, to give readers ideas for how to address situations like these and outline how Trace can help.
